Grant ClickWP access to your Google Workspace account

ClickWP can help set up and configure your Google Workspace account. However, Google has strict security systems in place and that makes it difficult for us to login to your Google Workspace account. Follow these steps to create a free Google Cloud Identity for ClickWP to administer your account.

Enable Cloud Identity Free

Login to admin.google.com. Navigate to Billing → Get more services → Cloud Identity. Select Cloud Identity Free and follow the steps to complete the purchase.

Disable auto-licensing for Google Workspace

Once you enable Cloud Identity Free, you may see a prompt to disable automatic licensing. Click through to the licensing settings.

If you missed the prompt or it wasn't shown to you, navigate to Billing → Subscriptions. Click on your Google Workspace subscription. On the next screen, click the Manage licensing settings link near the bottom of the screen.

Set automatic licensing to OFF.


Create a User for ClickWP

Navigate to Directory → Users and click the Add new user link. Create a user for ClickWP. You may use and address like clickwp@youraccount.com or admin@youraccount.com .

Remember to copy the password for the account at the end of the setup wizard.

Update privileges for the ClickWP user

Go back to Directory → Users and click on the newly-created user. Click on the Admin roles and privileges card. Assign the Super Admin role, and then save your changes.

Send ClickWP the password for the new user

ClickWP will now be able to manage your Google Workspace account. And it won't cost you an extra user on your monthly bill.
